Moreover, all images must move properly in relationship to the text. On the other hand, we have to create Power Point Presentations related to the four English Skills that are listening, speaking, writing, and reading. To do that, we need to investigate the methodological process used to teach the receptive skills. WEEK 5

This week some of my classmates explained about UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers. This is an emerging broad consensus worldwide about the benefits that can be brought to school education through the appropriate use of evolving information and communication technologies. The range of possible benefits covers practically all areas of activity in which knowledge and communication play a critical role: from improved teaching and learning processes to better student outcomes, from increased student engagement to seamless communication with parents, and from school networking and twinning to more efficient management and monitoring within the school. All in all, this is not surprising since the windows of opportunity that ICT offers for the development of knowledge economies and societies are open also for education”. http://www.unesco.org/new/en/unesco/themes/icts/teacher-education/

On the other hand, we received an invitation in our mails from our teacher about a new program named DROPBOX. This page offers the opportunity to keep important documents that you do not want to lose. To access to this page, you must register to be member of this site. Also, we participated in other web page named BBC British Council. This place has a lot of activities for teachers and students to develop in classes. Moreover, we visited another site named www.esl-lab.com. In this page, you can find activities related with listening. It offers a variety of audio exercises to people from different levels for example, elementary, middle, and high.  Additionally, the spot has each conversation or dialog in a written way to practice reading and speaking, or simply to follow the audio. I think these web pages that I knew and visited will be useful when I will practice in my pre-professional classes. Finally, the ICT will be an appropriate guide to use the information and communication technologies, too.

WEEK 4

At the beginning of this week, the teacher showed us a new program named Diigo.com. This web page keeps your important information like a diary. For example, if you find an excellent web page and you want to keep this page to future researches, you can do it with this this program. To keep the information: First, you must create a count in www.diigo.com. Second, you must go to diigolet to keep the information. Third, when you are in an interesting web page, you can keep it selecting an option named favorite. After, with a click you can save your page. Then, you have to write some information related with the page, for example the reason of this page, the use of it, extra information about the web page, key words, and so on. Finally, you must classify each web page into listening, speaking, reading, grammar, vocabulary, and EFL methods.

On Thursday, we read about ICT in Education, the Policy, UNESCO Guide to measuring ICT in Education, and Teacher Education. Later, we did a summary about this to public the comment in diigo.com. I wrote thatInformation and Communication Technology (ICT) stimulates education, communication, and information. It is promoted by UNESCO and by people who are involved in this new strategy. Also, UNESCO’s global network of agencies, establishments and associates offer Member States with incomes for expanding ICT in education policies, strategies and activities.Furthermore, ICT has some policies like develop transparent education planning to increase quality. For this reason, it makes thatthe information can be reliable and generally accessible. The advantage of Information and Communication Technologyis that it is being used for develop materials, distribute and share contents. Moreover, there is communication between learners, teachers and people around the world. With this kind of communication, lots of people are acquiring self-confidence, self-esteem, and security to share their ideas, feelings, and knowledge with others. Teachers are especially involved, because they must increase their quality as professionals and show the new changes. This is because we are in a civilized world, in a “Changing World”.

WEEK 3

In this week our teacher gave us some web pages related with plagiarism. First, we read this information to understand more about this process. Then, we work in pairs into the platform and answered some questions that we wrote in the forum. After, I learned that plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward. Also,I discovered that we can do plagiarism in different forms. For example, when we turn in someone else's work as your own, when we copy words or ideas from someone else without giving credit, when we fail to put a quotation in quotation marks, when we give incorrect information about the source of a quotation, when we change words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit, or copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not. Moreover, I read about citing. Itis to cite the authors name and the sources you have taken the information when you write an essay. By citing you show your credibility as a writer. You also provide an opportunity to share information with others. Finally, we exposed about APA Style. It refers to the rules and conventions established by the American Psychological Association for documenting sources used in a research paper. This document has a reference list that provides the information necessary to identify and retrieve each source. In conclusion, I think that I will be able to apply this new knowledge in my future researches. Also, I won’t forget that the expression of original ideas is considered intellectual property and I must avoid doing plagiarism.

WEEK 2

During this week I learned how work in in the UTA page. The teacher gave us our usernames and the passwords to access into the Internet and Multimedia Resources page. After, we changed our passwords for more security. Then we added more information and our photographs in the profiles. Also, we upload the first group workrelated about the URL, internet pages, reliable information, and so on. After that, the teacher taught us how we should manage the blogs and how share the information with the other users (classmates). Moreover, we developed an individual work and we published our respective paragraphs in the forum. Later, we gave an opinion based in our classmate’s comments.

On the other hand, I found an article that our teacher published in the Discussion Forum Rubric (http://www.cal.org/resources/Digest/0105oxford.html). When I read about Integrated Skills in the ESL/EFL Classroom I noticed something important. It said that some teachers prefer to develop one or two skills with the absence of all the others. I think that they should unite all of them to ensure an adequate learning in the students. In this form, the learners can get a better communication inside the environment that surrounds them. Also, students can interact with security and acquire self-confidence. When the teacher teaches in a wrong way, the student almost always uses literal translation from one language to another, especially when they are learning new grammar. To avoid this confusion in the students, the teacher must associate English's four important bases (reading, speaking, writing, and listening). With the integration of these skills, the teacher is promoting a free communication and preparing to his/her students to use the language in everyday life. Finally, I believe that all of this information will be applied when I realize my pre-professional practices in the next level of my English program.

WEEK 1

This week I received a new subject named Internet and Multimedia Resources.
I think this subject will help me to learn and understand the technology in a better way.
In my first class, the teacher explained us how we will work during this semester.
Also, she showed us our site of work into the “aulasvirtuales” from the UTA page.
Then, we created our new mails in Gmail and the blogs to publish the learning reflective journals every week. In the second class, our teacher sent us an e-mail with an interesting file about the URL, internet pages, and reliable information, and so on to work in pairs. After, we downloaded a document of Microsoft Word that contained two charts. Then, we filled the document with our own answers, but related with the information from the file.
In conclusion, during these days I learned how to manage the true information of a web page. Also, I think that I can apply this new knowledge in my future investigations or homework.Obviously, I will be more cautious in my research and I will try to find more reliable information.
