WEEK 7

The last Tuesday we learn how to create a good Power Point Presentations. These presentations must show overall visual appeal, grammar, punctuation and spelling without errors, and finally effects and transitions. In the overall visual appeal, students should include graphic elements in an appropriate form. Also, the readability of the Slides should be consistent and clear with the information. Moreover, all images must move properly in relationship to the text. On the other hand, we have to create Power Point Presentations related to the four English Skills that are listening, speaking, writing, and reading. To do that, we need to investigate the methodological process used to teach the receptive skills. For this reason, we learned how to create PPT and we must sure not to include so many effects, colors or pictures which make our work look unprofessional.

WEEK 5

This week some of my classmates explained about UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers. This is an emerging broad consensus worldwide about the benefits that can be brought to school education through the appropriate use of evolving information and communication technologies. The range of possible benefits covers practically all areas of activity in which knowledge and communication play a critical role: from improved teaching and learning processes to better student outcomes, from increased student engagement to seamless communication with parents, and from school networking and twinning to more efficient management and monitoring within the school. All in all, this is not surprising since the windows of opportunity that ICT offers for the development of knowledge economies and societies are open also for education”. http://www.unesco.org/new/en/unesco/themes/icts/teacher-education/

On the other hand, we received an invitation in our mails from our teacher about a new program named DROPBOX. This page offers the opportunity to keep important documents that you do not want to lose. To access to this page, you must register to be member of this site. Also, we participated in other web page named BBC British Council. This place has a lot of activities for teachers and students to develop in classes. Moreover, we visited another site named www.esl-lab.com. In this page, you can find activities related with listening. It offers a variety of audio exercises to people from different levels for example, elementary, middle, and high.  Additionally, the spot has each conversation or dialog in a written way to practice reading and speaking, or simply to follow the audio. I think these web pages that I knew and visited will be useful when I will practice in my pre-professional classes. Finally, the ICT will be an appropriate guide to use the information and communication technologies, too.

For this reason, it makes thatthe information can be reliable and generally accessible. The advantage of Information and Communication Technologyis that it is being used for develop materials, distribute and share contents. Moreover, there is communication between learners, teachers and people around the world. With this kind of communication, lots of people are acquiring self-confidence, self-esteem, and security to share their ideas, feelings, and knowledge with others. Teachers are especially involved, because they must increase their quality as professionals and show the new changes. This is because we are in a civilized world, in a “Changing World”.
